ABOUT ME

Johnny Highseas, a distinctive voice in folk and blues, originates from the southeast of England. His musical journey began with crafting original ballads in Kent, quickly expanding his horizons to London's vibrant music scene. It was here that Johnny co-founded Whilk and Misky, alongside his flatmate Nima Khaste, devoting several years to this collaborative venture until its conclusion in 2018.

Seeking new inspirations, Johnny ventured to New York, collaborating with producers Daniel Edinburg and King Klavé to explore fresh sounds and ideas. Eventually, he found a new home in Portugal, where his creative energy flourishes across multiple projects. He's the driving force behind Psychles, a post-punk grunge outfit, and Mudblood, a trio known for their gritty blues sound. Alongside these ventures, Johnny continues to nurture his solo career under the moniker Johnny Highseas.

His solo work, a constant undercurrent throughout his band involvements, delves into themes of societal displacement, the frustrations with human hypocrisy, and the timeless subjects of love and heartbreak. With a renewed focus, Johnny is set to share the rich tapestry of songs he's been composing over the years, promising a deeply personal and evocative musical experience for his listeners.
